In recent years,with the rapid development of IGBT technology,the flexible DC transmission technology is maturing.Press pack IGBT plays an important role in the construction of China's flexible DC transmission power grid due to its high power rating,good heat dissipation performance and fast switching speed.Press pack IGBT dynamic characteristic test platform is the basis of the device modeling,structure optimization,data collection,etc.As its important component,the load inductor has become a key factor restricting the miniaturization of the test platform structure.Therefore,the inductor of higher energy storage density is introduced to reduce the volume of load inductor,which is of great significance to realize the miniaturization design of the test platform.Firstly,this thesis introduces the IGBT dynamic characteristics test principle and the structure characteristics of the press pack IGBT.By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different types of inductors in dynamic performance test platform applications,the Brooks inductor with higher energy density is selected as the load inductor of the test platform.In addition,IGBT dynamic characteristics test simulation circuit is built,and the design requirements of the Brooks inductance value,resistance value,skin effect and insulation strength are proposed by simulation.Based on the above design requirements,an inductor design method that can obtain the maximum energy storage density is proposed.According to the electrical parameters and structural parameters,this thesis build the ANS YS electromagnetic simulation model.By simulation calculating,dynamic stability verifing and thermal stability verifing,this thesis verifies the feasibility of the design method.On this basis,the physical production of Brooks inductor is carried out,and the impedance characteristic measurement and insulation test are carried out.As a result,all the parameters meet the theoretical design requirements.Finally,based on the application of the Brooks inductor in the press pack IGBT dynamic characteristics platform,this thesis designs the ABB StakPak IGBT clamp fixture,builds the press pack IGBT dynamic characteristics test platform,and completes the high voltage low current and high current test.Combined with the experimental measurements,the energy storage density of Brooks inductor is calculated.Compared with the traditional dry air core inductor,Brooks inductor has higher energy storage density,which lays a foundation for further miniaturization of test platform.
