Expansive soil,which is one of our special disaster-prone soil,is widely distributed in the Wanjiang economic belt region Mainly composed of montmorillonite and Illite,the property of absorbing-expansion as well as drying-shrinkage it possesses,often results in huge losses to the local infrastructure and engineering practicing.Along with increasingly growing scale of the construction in Wanjiang economic belt expansive soil area,it has become increasingly prominent for problems of division treatment and information resource management of expansive soils.Traditional classification methods and the management methods based on paper version of document management could little if anything to meet Users' diverse needs of expansive soil data.Traditional classification method only contain one single index,which manifests formidable to reflect the complex engineering properties of expansive soils;Shortcomings of the traditional information management such as weak real-time ability,weak renewal capacity,weak data-sharing ability,etc.,have been criticized by most users.The fuzzy mathematics evaluation method comprehensively considers the impact of multiple indicators,the classification of expansive soil is more reasonable;GIS has powerful information management functions,it is of great practical significance to apply GIS to realize the information resources management of expansive soils.Selecting representative parameters from rich geotechnical data information of expansive soil,combined with large amount of theories and practice aiming at expansive soil evaluation,six indicators including free-expansion rate are proposed as evaluation indexes of expansive soil.Then,employing the method of knowledge reduction in rough set theory,the evaluation index is further screened,and weight of each index determined by the principle of attribute importance.Finally,we reap the evaluation index of expansive soil in Wanjiang economic belt,and the weight is respectively determined.According the result we get,based on the principle of fuzzy mathematics,the expansibility of expansive soil is comprehensively evaluated,which provides a reference for the accurate classification of expansive soil.In this paper,taking the specific project "Geological engineering conditions investigation and division of peculiar soil in Wanjiang economic belt " for research object,basing on the information management of expansive soil,MapGIS K9 softwarewas applied to establish expansive soil database of Wanjiang Economic Belt.Geostatistical analysis module of software was invoked to interpolate expansive soil sampling points Figure.Through data validation,it infers the ordinary Kriging interpolation method is suitable for the interpolation method the expansive soil zone in the economic belt of the Yangtze River in Anhui Province.
