A large number of facts show that the congestion of Urban Road intersection is the most serious,and the conflict point of the road intersection is also the most prone to the accident,The topic of this thesis comes from the National Natural Science Foundation of China of “Accident Risk Assessment of Highway Traffic Flow and Optimization of Safety Design Parameters under the Influence of Visibility(NO.51578207)”.The paper proposes the circuity measures of minor traffic flow at intersections of larger flow of traffic,so as to reduce the traffic congestion at intersections and improve traffic safety?Based on the domestic road traffic environment,the paper carries on a study on the planning method of circuity traffic organization for the minor traffic flow at the two most common types of intersections,namely the “T intersection” and “cross-shaped intersection”.The paper first introduces the research background.By analyzing the research status of academic circle,the paper summarizes the difficiencies of existing research on indirect left-turn by U-turn at intersections,in which the concept of Minor Traffic Flow Circuity at Intersection and the management strategy of circuity intersetion are proposed,and the typical application environment for circuity intersection for minor traffic flow circuity is pointed out?Taking the common intersection type as the research object,the paper presents the traffic organization ways for the minor traffic flow circuity at“T-type”intersection?Under the circumstnaces of adequate and inadequate medial strips on the truck roads of “cross-shaped intersection”,based on the central U-turn circuity mode and the traffic organization mode of “Jug-handle circuity”,the paper raises two different kinds of traffic organization ways for the minor traffic flow circuity at intersections and analyzes its operation process.Through analysis,the key geometric parameters of the intersections that adopt central U-turn circuity for monor traffic flow include location of traffic flow circuity U-turn,the lane length of circuity U-turn traffic flow in line and width and opening length of medial strip at the point of diversion U-turn?The key geometric parameters of intersections that adopt jug-handle circuity for monor traffic flow include the length of speed-change lane before ramp entrance,the distance between ramp entrance and main intersection,the distance between ramp export and main intersection,the lane length of circuity vehicle in line on the ramp,and the selection of plane line of ramp,etc?At the same time,the geometric model of each key geometric parameter is constructed in accordance with the theoretical knowledge of Traffic Flow and Queuing Theory?With the method of Vehicle-crossing Theory and traffic survey,the mode of traffic delay and capacity model of the intersection under the traffic organization with the minor traffic flow circuity are deduced after analysis.With examples and through VISSIM simulation calculation results show that under certain conditions the intersection of minor stream far cited can effectively reduce the signal phase number and average vehicle delay while improving intersection capacity,show that the traffic organization methods of intersection of minor stream far cited has better application value for the optimization of City Road intersection design.
