The process of constructing steel-concrete combination bridge is completed through applying shear connector to combine the upper concrete bridge deck and lower steel beam. This constructing method which has been widely applied in recent years can fully take advantage of the tensile strength of steel and the compression strength of concrete. The researches on steel-concrete combination construction methods,in China, are various. However, due to the great differences come to certain projects, the relevant research results, more or less, exist limitations. The present study takes the management procedures of the ninth viaduct(30plus 4multi 55 plus 30)meters of Nan Pin Road,Xiaoxihu Overpass,Lanzhou city, which conducts steel concrete composite girder bridge substructure construction as research subject. It,the contest of this study, specifically introduces the construction procedures of the lower inverted L pier and upper steel concrete composite beam.In the course of its construction,to maintain the order of transportation under the bridge, the superstructure uses the form of a steel-concrete composite beam, hoisting the open steel box girder prefabricated in the factory to the temporary pier to accelerate progressing.Meanwhile, staging of bridge deck and pouring method in negative bending moment zone helps to solve the problem of cracking of concrete bridge deck.later on,when the steel beam is raised up well, using the temporary buttress to exert the top force to the steel beam. Finally, unloading the force which can increase the pressure stress reserve of the bridge deck when the bridge is completely constructed. Those experiences gained above can be guidance for related bridge construction projects. This paper connects the design drawing and construction management design of the mentioned bridge to conduct a calculation on the construction process of inverted L pier and steel-concrete composite beam by finite element software Midas Civil.Soon later, displacement and stress values of inverted L piers, steel box girder and concrete bridge deck at various construction stages are worked out.In the design, the location of displacement measuring point of inverted L pier should be in the bottom of the beam of long cantilever end and pier(2m above the ground)while stress measurement point should be placed respectively in the top and bottom of the the upper part of the vertical axis on both sides of the bridge pier and beam in each section of long cantilever.By analyzing the result from Midas Civil calculation and date measured in the site to meet the request of the course and force of the inverted L piers.According to the design, three points are set differently.First, the displacement measuring point of the upper steel concrete composite beam is set each section of cross section and top section of middle pier among 1/4?2/4?3/4.Secondly,the measuring point on steel box girder of composite beam is set in both sides of the support with a total 9 sides namely 36#-37#middle ?37#-38# across middle?38#-39#across middle,37#?38#?39#.Third,The measuring point on the bridge deck is set among 36#-37#across middle?37#-38#across middle?38#-39#across middle,37#?38#?39# and 6 sections are arranged at the top of the pier.Analyzing the result from Midas Civil calculation and date measured in the site has guaranteed the request of the course and force of the inverted L piers.Besides, through the monitoring of the upper and lower structures of the composite beam bridge, the effectiveness of the monitoring scheme for the bridge is proved, and the safety of the structure is ensured. This design can provide reference for the construction control of similar bridges.
