Saturable reactor is the key part of HVDC converter valve,and the periodic conduction and turn off of converter valve make the insulation of saturable reactor endure periodic combined effect of periodic electro-thermal stress for a long time.The life of insulation is the key factor to determine the operation safety of the saturable reactor.The study of the aging characteristics and life model of the insulation is called the primary task.At present,the research on the aging characteristics of saturated reactor insulation is basically based on thermal aging,and the impact of pulse electric stress on insulation is not clear.This has become a potential threat to the reliability of HVDC transmission.800kV HVDC converter valve with in-depth analysis and research of saturable reactor based on saturable reactor electric field distribution on the characteristics of the simulation,and based on the results of analysis of the electric field,developed a set of electric pulse aging test system of epoxy resin in aging characteristics and life model under the force of the the analysis of the electric pulse.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)Using COMSOL based finite element analysis software,the electric field simulation model of saturated reactor is established,which can realize the simulation calculation of the internal dynamic electric field of the saturable reactor.2)Self-developed a test system for simulating the actual operation condition of saturable reactor,and got the aging rule of insulation material under different aging time.3)Partial discharge infrared absorption and scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate the characteristic parameters of aged samples.The change rules of characteristic parameters in the early stage of aging,the middle stage of aging and the later stage of aging were given in three ways.4)Based on the Weibull parameter model,the failure life model of the saturated reactor insulation material under the pulse electric stress is proposed.
