With the rapid development of modern high-voltage and high-current power grids,the measurement requirements for the electric field also increases.Compared with traditional electromagnetic field sensors,rotary optical electric field sensors have great advantages in insulation,anti-electromagnetic interference and reliability,and have been paid more attention by researchers at home and abroad in recent years.Rotating optical electric field sensor using electro-optic crystal as the sensing medium,the use of circularly polarized light through the electro-optical crystal placed in the electric field of the two intrinsic wave will produce the nature of phase delay to achieve the measurement of the external electric field.In this paper,we will study the rotating optical field sensor from theoretical analysis,simulation calculation and experimental research.In this paper,the propagation characteristics of light waves in anisotropic crystals are analyzed by the Fresenl formula of the light wave in the crystal.According to the distribution of the polarization states of the light waves in the crystal,the mathematical expression of the rotating optical electric field sensor is deduced by using the refractive index ellipsoid and the electro-optic effect,which provides a theoretical basis for the realization of rotary optical electric field sensor.Secondly,the coupling model of the optical field and the electric field of the rotary electric field sensor is established.The simulation of the rotating optical electric field sensor is realized by the electromagnetic wave propagation method combined with the Stokes matrix.The COMSOL simulation software analyzes the characteristics of the optical field and electric field distribution of the rotary optical electric field sensor and obtains the sensor output result.Based on the theory and simulation analysis of rotary optical electric field sensor,the experimental platform of rotating optical electric field sensor and the rotating electric field is designed.Prove the feasibility of rotating optical electric field sensor by the method of relative rotation of the applied electric field and sensing crystal.And the sensor linearity was measured to obtain good results.Finally,a calibration system based on virtual instrument is designed.The hardware and software components of the system are discussed.The data are collected by data acquisition card and collected in real time.After the calibration procedure is processed,the measurement result is obtained.To achieve the sensor verification function.According to the national standard GBT12720-91 design experiment,verify the correctness of the calibration system.
