Hainan province is located in the southernmost tip of China,belonging to the tropical monsoon climate,which has abundant rainfall,strong sunshine,high temperature and long duration and humid atmosphere.With the impact of the road design level,overloading of vehicles,traffic channelization,construction quality control and many other reasons,the asphalt pavement rutting,water damage and other early damage is becoming increasingly prominent,which has become a key problem in the quality control of asphalt pavement in Hainan.Modified asphalt is a widely taken countermeasure to solve the ruts and cracking phenomenon which due to traffic flow of heavy traffic road.Thus improving the road asphalt pavement performance and the ability of anti rutting,deformation and push,prolongs the service life of the pavement,which is of great significance.This paper collected the surface meteorological data in recent ten years of 7 areas in Hainan Province.Through the analysis of the statistical data set value of the climate data of every region in value and month,the paper summarized the overall characteristics of climate in Hainan Province,and the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of climate.With taken a highway asphalt pavement in Hainan Province as the research object,the paper designed a temperature measurement program which collected data of temperature field distribution in asphalt pavement with different internal structure depth during the period of high temperature.Using regression analysis to explore the relationship between the maximum temperature and the highest temperature inside the pavement structure,and obtains the corresponding prediction formula of temperature at the horizon and at any depth,which provided a reference temperature of the most unfavorable conditions for the design of asphalt pavement in Hainan.Based on the characteristics of climate and temperature distribution in Hainan Province,some main indexes of asphalt performance were confirmed.In the experimental study,the main raw materials of modified asphalt,such as matrix asphalt,SBS modifier,additive and so on,were selected.Through the compatibility tests during SBS modifier and asphalt,and tests for additives effect on the performance of the modified asphalt,two asphalt modified test plan were designed which included the single SBS modification and the composite SBS modification.Through a large number of experiments and according to the relevant technical requirements,two set of optimal ratios were selected,which were program A:4.1%T161B+3.75%stabilizer+-TIPCO70#and program B:3.15%T161B+1.05%3501+3.75%stabilizer+TIPCO70#.By their technical and economic comparison,the two selection scheme existed differencese slightly in the high temperature performance and ductility,but the comprehensive performances were good.Programt B had a slight advantage on economic cost than program A,so it can be chosen according to the actual needs of the project plan.
