Tailings dam is an important facility for industrial production and also one of the major hazards in mines.If the tailings dam break,it will not only pollute the environment and inflict economic damage but also cause devastating disasters to the people's lives near the dam.Crack caused by earthquake,is one of the important reasons of dam destruction,so it is important to study the reaction of the tailings dam under the action of earthquake.Based on the Qidashan tailings dam,this article studies the seepage field,stress field,dynamic responses and liquefaction area through theoretical research,numerical simulation and project practice.The main work and results as follows.1.Based on the Qidashan tailings dam,a three-dimension finite element model is built.Based on the Duncan-Chang model,it analyzes the coupling of fluid and solid using the ABAQUS software.It can get the stress field,seepage field and the spatial distribution of seepage face.2.Based on the equivalent linearization,a program computing dynamic response is developed by FORTRAN.After the operators input of seismic waves and static calculations,the calculation program can get the acceleration,dynamic displacement and liquefaction zone and display the results of dynamical using TECPLOT.It can deal with the matter of complex boundary and has intuitive pre-process and post-process.3.Based on the analysis of fluid-solid coupling,dynamic response of the Qidashan tailings dam due to earthquake was studied using the dynamic program compiled.It can get the acceleration time-history curve in critical position,maximum acceleration and displacement distribution.The results fit with the common laws of stress state within dam body.The liquefaction zones of the tailings dam are got under seismic loading by the effective stress method.The liquefaction zones occur in small areas around the deposited beach area and under the dam slope,but not through the dam,which has nothing to contribute to dynamic stability.
