When a car drives,the steering column and bracket is an important way of "communication" between drivers,vehicles and roads.The safety and reliability of the steering column and bracket directly affects the driving safety of the driver.In particular,the driving environment of the heavy truck is harsh and steering operation is difficult.Therefore,the fatigue life of the steering column and bracket is calculated by means of finite element analysis,typical pavement acceleration acquisition and virtual iteration,and the fatigue performance is evaluated.Firstly,the finite element model of the steering column and bracket is established by using HyperMesh software to import the model,clean the geometry,divide the mesh,establish the connection relation and give the material properties.OptiStruct software is used to calculate the stress field distribution based on the unit load inertia release.Secondly,according to the requirements of virtual iteration,the acceleration signals of the typical pavement are collected at the fixed far field and extract the acceleration signals by cutting,filtering,spike-peak,conversion units and other operations in nCode software.Thirdly,with Adams software,a rigid-flexible coupled multi-body dynamics model including the steering column and bracket,frame,cab and overturning mechanism is established.Displacement spectrums of the steering column and bracket with cab,frame and steering gear are obtained by generating white noise,transfer function and virtual iteration in Femfat-lab software.The load spectrums at the corresponding location are extracted by the simulation of Adams software.Finally,based on the finite element model of the steering column and bracket,the load spectrums at the joint and the material characteristic curve are calculated in the nCode software,the fatigue simulation analysis of the steering column and bracket is carried out considering the condition of full load.The simulation results show that the fatigue life of the steering column and bracket meets the requirements of the design life.By means of virtual iteration,a set of fatigue simulation process of the steering column and bracket is designed,which provides a reference to study the fatigue life and improve the structure of the steering column and bracket.
