At present, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana's electrical power has entered a stage of stagnant development, not only has the power capacity been unreliable for the past decade but the country has not managed to move away from depending almost 100%on diesel generators for power. However,Guyana has recently unveiled its "Green Bartica Development Plan".The initiative was part of the country's new outlook on being able to drive the country's development through sustainable actions. In this paper,a research direction is exploited for the town of Bartica by using a micro-grid system to assist the evaluation of making Bartica a full green town and create different pathways to make this decision a feasible one.The coherence of renewable energy systems is used jointly to resolve the problem that the town faces today in energy supply and reliability. In particular,we address all of the renewable energy resources available in this region are addressed, viz.solar, wind, biomass and hydroelectric power. This study will explore different feasible approaches that should be applied to this self-sustaining town by the micro-grid system. The technical and economic evaluation are done by the HOMER Pro software. The economic aspects include system design capacity, cash inflow and outflow, etc.Strategies may include reinforcement from designating wind farms in nearby towns, and implementing the farming of new crops to the area for biomass use etc.
