A Study On The Historical Evolution Of Ancient Huizhou Traditional Settlements

The evolution of traditional settlements is a long and complex development process.With the passage of time,settlement space is evolving and changing step by step.Back in ancient Huizhou traditional settlements development source,review and analysis of the settlement space development history evolution process,refining the characteristics of different stages of development and summarizes the evolution mechanism of them,in order to determine the future direction of development,make the correct guidance for all aspects of economic and cultural development in Huizhou area.Based on the combing and summarization of historical materials and literature,this paper selects 249 traditional settlement samples and explores the evolution process,spatial distribution evolution,and influencing factors of the ancient Huizhou traditional settlements from two dimensions: time and space.From the perspective of time,the development of the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement has experienced five stages: the embryonic stage,the embryonic stage,the formation stage,the development stage,the prosperity stage,and the decline stage.Through summarizing and describing the various stages of development,we can basically glimpse the timeline of the development of the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement.From the perspective of space,the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement has four spatial evolution characteristics.The evolution of the spatial pattern of the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement shows many characteristics,which are manifested by the continuous increase of settlement density;the spatial distribution of settlements presents a spatial agglomeration trend;the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement shows the characteristics of axial extension and widening of the circle in a long period of time;The traditional settlements between the counties are more unevenly developed;traditional settlements have geographical features of “ low altitude ” and“along the water”.Finally,through the analysis of the above space and time,the influencing factors of the settlement evolution are further summarized.The evolution of the ancient Huizhou traditional settlement is affected by various aspects of the socio-economic culture.The main manifestations are: limited by topographic conditions;need for production irrigation;population Migration and differentiation of the internal population of the village;the rise and development of commercial trade in Huizhou;spontaneous and demand,regional;conscious and choice,identity and so on.
