As a three-dimensional reinforcement material,geocell has been widely used in civil engineering,transportation,water conservancy and port navigation.In the field of traffic,geocell-reinforcement is a complex that can effectively improve the mechanical properties of the subgrade,and its mechanical parameters are directly related to the ma-terial design of the geocell.Many scholars have conducted a large number of indoor and outdoor macroscopic experiments to investigate the mechanical properties of the geo-cell-reinforcement.Compared with indoor and outdoor macro experiments,the mul-ti-scale method has the advantage of exploring the mechanical properties of heteroge-neous composites from macroscopic and mesoscale scales.As a multi-scale method with strict mathematical subgrade,the asymptotic homogenization method is used to analyze the mechanical properties of the geocell-reinforcement,which can provide a theoretical basis for the material design and application of the geocell.The main research contents and conclusions of this article are as follows:Firstly,the general process of applying the asymptotic homogenization method to study the mechanical properties of the geocell-reinforcement is introduced.From the representative volume element of the periodically distributed composite material,the equivalent elastic modulus component of the geocell-reinforcement and the conversion relationship of Young's modulus,Poisson's ratio and shear modulus are defined.Next,the 45° laying method for geocell and the 0° laying method are used to rep-resent the volume element.The equivalent elastic modulus,Poisson's ratio,and shear modulus of the reinforced layer are calculated by the asymptotic homogenization meth-od and measured by the test.The test results are compared and the results show that the method of asymptotic homogenization can be used to calculate the equivalent elastic modulus of the reinforced layer of the three-dimensional geocell,and the result is relia-ble;the equivalent elasticity of the geocell laying method to the components of the rein-forced layer.Modulus,Poisson's ratio and shear modulus all have great influence;the equivalent elastic modulus component and the laying method of 45° is better than 0°.The Poisson's ratio component in the horizontal direction of the stiffened layer is nega-tive,which proves that the two laying methods of the geocell-reinforcement have nega-tive Poisson's ratio characteristics.Finally,The anisotropic material parameters calculated by the asymptotic homoge-nization method and the isotropic material parameters obtained by the test method were respectively used to establish the numerical model of the subgrade in the reference test according to the different laying methods and depths of the geocell The numerical simu-lation shows that the laying method and depth of the geocell all affect the deformation of the subgrade.
