With the rapid development of economy,the demand for electric energy in China has increased significantly.The development of society has brought about the progress of technology,which leads to the further improvement of users' demand.This phenomenon accelerates the development of power grid and increases the complexity of maintenance of power grid system.In order to cope with this challenge,all countries in the world aim at the actual situation of the development of their own domestic power grid,comb ined with the characteristics of the domestic power grid,and actively carry out the research work of the power grid.As a response to the development of new energy and renewable energy,especially new energy power grid connect will impact on the power grid,China launched a large number of scientific research,to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the power grid.In addition,with the development of grid technology,especially the development of smart grid technology,national research and Power Gr id Corp to develop a series of important policy and direction,and promote the implementation of the "one meter per household,tube electric household" policy reform.With the increasing workload of power supply enterprise network management,the traditional meter can not meet the requirements of the new situation.This paper introduces the development of smart grid,research status of smart meter are analyzed,including the two part of the foreign and domestic research situation,elaborated on the research direction and the difference between smart meters.The composition and structure of the smart meter system are studied,and the composition and function of the smart meter are introduced in detail.Combined with the system design requirements,the hardware circuit of smart meter is designed,including the master control circuit minimum system design,voltage acquisition circuit design and current acquisition circuit design.The software of the system is designed,including the structure design of main program and the design of communication program structure.In order to ensure the reliable operation of the circuit,the electromagnetic compatibility of the circuit is designed.This paper introduces the development and application of smart meter in Baoding area,and gives the application data of smart meter in industrial power users and individual power users through data and charts.In the different user environment,the accuracy of smart meter is tested,and the test results are given in the form of table.The test results are analyzed,the improvement measures are put forward,the improved smart meter is tested,and the data comparison before and after the improvement is given.
