Architects are active promoters of the development of China's construction industry,while the study of them is a very important part of the study of Chinese modern architecture.The research on individual architects is conducive to filling the gaps in the history of modern architecture.It can also improve the framework of the history of modern architecture,and provide reference for the future development of the building.As the first group of architects who returned from the United States to study abroad,Lu Yen-chin accepted strict academic education in America.After returning home,he founded his own architectural firm and initiated the founding of the Chinese Institute of Architects.He was hailed as the founder of Chinese modern architecture.In the brief architect career from 1921 to1929,he designed and built two monumental buildings,the Nanjing Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial Hall,which left a deep impression on the architectural history of the Republic of China and also gave the answer to the question of how to integrate Western modern architectural concepts with Chinese traditional architectural styles.Today,Nanjing Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial still exude unique architectural charm.With the background of the development of modern Chinese architecture in the early 20 th century,the paper revolves around Lu Yen-chin's data collation and research,systematically combing his architectural achievements,analyzing the architectural ideas behind the architectural works,and exploring the formation of Lu Yen-chin's architectural ideas.The first chapter of the thesis is mainly about the background,including the background of the era and the forming background of Lu Yen-chin's architectural thoughts.It briefly introduces the development history of modern Chinese architecture and the life experience of Lu Yen-chin.Thesecond chapter combed Lu Yen-chin's architectural practice experience,including the design and construction of Nanjing Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial Hall,and actively promoted the establishment of China's first architect academic group,the Chinese Institute of Architects.The third chapter dissertation analyzes Lu Yen-chin's architectural concept and style.The fourth chapter explains his architectural ideas and its influence on the development of Chinese modern architecture history and its significance,and limitations in practice.The last part is the conclusion.
