The Design And Development Of Virtual Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration System

Laparoscopy is one kind of minimally invasive surgery developed in recent years.Due to its small wound,early recovery,less pain and rapid recovery characteristics compared with traditional operative method,it has become the main melody in the development of surgery.Laparoscopy also set higher requirements for the operator and the minimal invasive surgical training system.With the rapid development of information technology,virtual reality has become the focus of diferrent kinds of industry.Virtual laparoscopy is a typical application of virtual reality in surgery.Laparoscopic surgery training based on virtual reality is low cost,short on training cycle and can be used repeatly.Choledocholithiasis is a common surgical disease and laparoscopic common bile duct exploration is the most common method for the treatment of it and has been recognized as the gold standard.Therefore,the design and development of virtual laparoscopic common bile duct exploration dystem is of great significance for the improvement of the surgeon skills.On the basis of Visible Chinese Human(VCH)and five-DOF manipulator,this paper presents a virtual surgery system according to the standard laparoscopic common bile duct exploration flow.The contents of this paper are as follows:1)Detailed scale gallbladder model based on VCH and laparoscopic instruments model are constructed and textured in order to be more realistic in virtual simulation.2)An algorithm for fast generation of compat bounding boxes for concave object is designed and complemented.3)The procedure of laparoscopic common bile duct exploration is analysed and the state of organ and manipulator in each step has been recorded.Surgery preview module is designed and established.4)A virtual laparoscopic common bile duct exploration System consists of three modules: base skill training,surgery preview and surgery training is proposed and developed.The virtual laparoscopic common bile duct exploration system proposed in this paper has a good user interface and gives a more realistic operation experience to users.Novices can be more familiar with the procedure of the surgery and get improved surgical skills by using this system.This system is hopeful to be applied in the surgery education in the future.
