This thesis aims at design and development on the Minimal Invasive SurgicalSimulator (MISS). Based on the unique surgical technique demanded by the minimalinvasive surgery, we design several training schemes of MISS. By means of objectoriented program design and visualization programming methods, we also develop thesimulation platform with WorldToolKit(WTK) environment. In addition, we developgeometry models of human organs and surgery apparatus by 3DS MAX and Pro/E.The main achievements related on the MISS system designing, training programsdesigning and software development are obtained as well.Firstly, based on the total comprehension of surgeon's operations in surgery, wedesign several training schemes step by step according to the unique surgicaltechnique demanded by minimal invasive surgery, which establishes solid technicalfoundation to the MISS further development.Secondly, we complete the software designing of MISS in terms of thecharacteristic and structure of virtual reality system. According to the traits of WTKand the whole system, we also divide the system into geometry model, event handlingmodel, scene handling model, data input model, output model and figure romancingmodel, etc.Lastly, we realize functions of system management, human-computer interfaceand program compiling on platform developed by VC and WTK. As such, all thetraining schemes are carried out and the coordination of hands, thoughts and eyes isobtained when doctors using MISS.The achievements of this thesis will benefit the popularization of MinimalInvasive Surgery and improvement of medical level, which conforms to the tendencyof combining modern computer science with medicine.
