In recent years,with the rapid development of infrastructure construction in china,the number of road intersections is increasing and traffic congestion problems have become more and more serious.The intersection is the key node of the road network.At the same time,it is of great significance to improve the traffic congestion and traffic efficiency by carrying out reasonable traffic organization.Therefore,the further study of traffic organization and design index at the intersection is necessary and this can provide a new solution to the problem of traffic jams at urban intersection.First of all,this paper summarizes the basic forms and traffic organization methods of intersections used at home and abroad.At the same time,the deep analysis and research is conducted at one of them-the quadrant roadway intersection.In terms of traffic organization,this article describes the flow direction and the bypass of the left-turn traffic flow.The critical lane volume(CLV)analysis method is adopted to determine the best location for connecting roads,based on traffic safety and traffic efficiency.In terms of technique index,this paper analyzes the application of quadrant roadway Intersection,using the theory of vehicle acceleration and deceleration,queuing theory,probability,signal coordinated control theory and other related knowledge to obtain a reasonable the node spacing.In addition,the number and width of connecting roads are analyzed based on the traffic flow and running speed at the crossing nodes.Through in-depth study of traffic flow characteristics and green-wave traffic theory,we calculate the signal timing program,green light time and phase difference for each phase.Finally,this paper selects the evaluation indicators such as traffic capacity and delay,using VISSIM simulation software to simulate and analyze the traditional intersection and quadrant roadway intersection under different traffic saturations and left-turn ratios,further clarifying the advantages of quadrant roadway intersection.
