Digital micromirror device(DMD)based infrared scene simulation,which is able to test and evaluate the performance of the infrared detection system effectively and provide reliable support for the development of the infrared detection system,has the advantage of high resolution,high frame frequency,large temperature range,etc.For this reason,this paper discusses the development status of infrared simulation system to research the key technology of medium wave infrared simulator.The advantages of digital micromirror device for scene simulation are summarized by comparing the feature of infrared scene generation techniques.The design scheme of infrared simulation system is proposed combining the operating principle of DMD.To satisfy the illumination need of DMD,a radiant source that meets the requirement is selected,the design parameters of illumination system are defined,and the design result of illumination is given.At the same time,four methods of splitting are comprised,and prism splitting is adopted finally.The design method of prism splitting is studied,and the actual design of prism is completed.In order to ensure the projection quality of the simulation system,the athermal design technologies and parameter of the projection optical system are analyzed.On this basis,projection system is designed using ZEMAX software.An infrared scene simulator is developed in accordance with the result of the implemented design.Through the performance testing of projection system,lighting system,synchronous circuit and dual projection,the feasible of the simulation system is verified.
