Deploying Named Data networking(NDN)in the vehicle ad-hoc Network(VANET)is a hot topic now,and the forwarding strategy is the keystone of the research.Network cache is built in NDN,that is why multi-source retrieval of content is supported. While increasing the success rate and speed of content acquisition,it also brings about the problem of multi-source redundancy response.A multi-source redundancy response can cause unnecessary transmission in the network, consume a large amount of network resources, and reduce the throughput of the network.By using network coding technology, the differences between data can be shielded, and vehicle nodes can be allowed to perform linear combinations of received packets and forward them out, which can effectively avoid sending too many data packets, thus increasing the throughput of the network. In this thesis,a forwarding strategy based on network coding is proposed to solve the problem of multi-source redundancy response. In the packet forwarding phase, the next appropriate hop node is selected according to the mobile behavior of the neighbor node and the coding characteristics of the cache content to reduce the overhead of network packet. This thesis carries on the simulation experiment in the ndnSIM network simulation tool.Three groups of experiments are designed to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed forwarding strategy based on network coding to solve the multi-source redundancy response problem. The experimental results show that compared with the forwarding strategy without network coding, the proposed strategy in this thesis can effectively reduce the packet overhead in the network while maintaining a high request satisfaction rate, and up to 20% of packet overhead in the network can be reduced.
