Cable connector is a key part of cable line,most of the cable fault is caused by cable connector failure.Therefore,the cable joint sealant(the cable joint sealant)need to have excellent mechanical properties,insulation performance,sealing water resistance;highvoltage cable joint sealant also need to have good flame retardant properties.polyurethane(PU)has become a more commonly used cable connector potting material.because of its excellent adhesiveness,good weatherability,good sealing and insulation,wide range of mechanical properties range and low cost and other advantages.Firstly,the environmentally-friendly cable joint sealant was prepared by using environment-friendly filler,and its mechanical properties were optimized through the formulation improvement of the double cross-linked structure.The results showed that the environmentally friendly PU cable joint sealant met the requirements of harmful material limits,and enhanced the mechanical properties,and had high transparency,when when the paraffin filler was selected,the content of-NCO/-OH in component A was 4.5 and the content of plasticizer in component B was 10%.In this paper,Through the research of flame retardant technology,flame retardant type high-voltage cable joint sealant with good flame retardancy was prepared.And the influences of the type and amount of flame retardant on the flame retardancy and thermal decomposition resistance of the product were studied and compared,Flame retardant research methods were expanded and extended.The results showed that the oxygen index of flame-retardant PU cable joint sealant were 27.5% and 27% respectively and both the vertical combustion method can achieve the FV-0 flame retardancy rating,when Tris(chlorisopropyl)Phosphate(TCPP)and Isopropylphenyl phosphate(IPP)are both 20%,so the requirement of improving the flame retardancy was fulfilled.The methods of combustion analysis,mass loss determination and thermogravimetric analysis were suitable for the auxiliary methods to studying the comparison and evaluation of flame retardant decomposition mechanism and flame retardant effect.In this paper,the influences of the type and amount of flame retardant on the cable joint sealant mechanics,insulation and other properties of the product were further studied.The results showed that the type and amount of flame retardant,to a certain extent,affected the performance of PU cable adhesive.However,when the content of TCPP and IPP were both 20%,the mechanical and insulating properties of PU cable joint sealant still met the requirements of relevant national standards and industry requirements,and had a certain degree of transparency.To sum up,the environment-friendly flame retardant cable joint sealant prepared in this paper realized the environmental protection,flame retardancy and overall performance upgrade of the polyurethane cable joint adhesive,which achieved the expected goal and meets the development needs of industries and applications.
