In recent years,Hollow Section Structure has been used in Bridges Engineering widely more and more.As for the Hollow Section Structure, the joints,as the connections of the tubular components, are important and weak parts for the whole structure in the meantime. So more attention should be paid on the joints.Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)materials have the high strength and lighter weight and are widely used in the strengthening and repairing of concrete structures in the past. But its good performance in fatigue and aseismic is more suitable for strengthening steel structure. In this paper,a reasonable ABAQUS finite element model is established to investigate the Hysteretic behavior of the CHS-T joints strengthened with CFRP sheets. The main content and conclusion of research be stated as:1.Choosing reasonable constitutive relationship and element type for Steel and CFRP according to the experimental research, considering material and geometric non-linearity,then it is established finite element model to verify with the experimental results, and proved the method is correct and effective.2.The bearing capacity, ductility, strength degradation, hysteretic behavior, energy dissipation capability, and other performance indexes of the CHS-Joint strengthened with CFRP sheets is studied and analyzed by using finite element method.3.The influence of the strengthening parameters of CFRP(the orientation and number of layers and the length of plies)and geometrical parameters of CHS-T-joint(diameter ratio, chord thinness ratio)on the hysteretic behavior is investigated.
