There is a large number of red sandstone along the Ordos Basin in Inner Mongolia.Untreated red sandstone can not be directly used for subgrade filling because of disintegration.Therefore,it is very necessary to carry out the research on the application of red sandstone to subgrade filling.Combined with indoor test and theoretical analysis,the basic engineering properties of red sandstone are tested first,and the main cause of the disintegration is determined by the high hydrophilic mineral loss in the red sandstone,and the red sandstone is improved.The results show that the red sandstone with cement and two ash fixation has high structural strength.According to the results of the experiment,the suggestions on the application of red sandstone as road bed and embankment filling are put forward,and the scheme of strengthening and treating with geotextiles is analyzed and discussed.The construction technology of the red sandstone Subgrade of the geotextile core is determined,and the deformation characteristics of the embankment filled with red sandstone after the treatment are improved with the support of the engineering practice.The test results show that the roadbed with the geotextile core red sandstone has good anti deformation ability,which shows that the red sandstone after treatment has good engineering effect.
