With the development of the modern transportation, marine traffic situation is becoming more and more complicated. As a navigation aid,ECDIS(electronic chart display and information system)can intuitively and clearly display navigation environment for safe navigation decision-making to ensure marine safety. As two important navigation equipments,Each of RADAR and AIS shows its own advantages and disadvantages. It is necessary to integrate radar and AIS information, lead to optimal messages for navigation, and display the optimized ones on ECDIS,which is of great significance to marine safety guard. The data structure based on RADAR and AIS theories and technologies was analyzed first, pointing out the differences & similarities in time and space of the two and preparing for the later coming information fusion.Based on information fusion technology, this paper secondly compared the structure models while integrating various multi-sensor information. Then a distributed structure was determined to fuse RADAR and AIS information. The information preprocessing and relevance judgment processes were analyzed, particularly relevance judgment,at last the weighted-average method was utilized for fusing RADAR and AIS information. At last, the information displaying technology on ECDIS was studied. The decoding and extracting of RADAR signal simulation,RADAR and AIS messages, coordinate transformation, and database storage technology,Integrated display, etc, were deeply discussed. The integration display result of RADAR and AIS information is preliminarily carried out,by using MFC,GDI+,YimaEnc(a kind of electronic chart development controls)under VS2010.
