Electronic charts and navigation radars are indispensable devices for ship navigation systems.Over the years,these two parts cannot be used independently,which make it unable to fully show the overall situation of static and dynamic targets around the ship.However,the fusion display of the navigation information of these two parts enable the ship to show the dangerous moving targets on the surface of the sea and the underwater reefs and shoals.To improve the ability of the ship to avoid obstacles,a fusion display system for electronic chart and radar information is designed and implemented by using the QT graphics framework under the Linux system platform.Its main contents are summarized as follow.First of all,this thesis introduces the basic structure of the fusion display system and analyzes the system principle of the electronic chart and navigation radar.Then,it proposes the overall design of the fusion display.The fusion display system is designed using ideas of modular and hierarchical display and the main modules of the system include an electronic chart display module,a radar information display module,and a fusion display module.The navigation information is divided into an electronic chart layer,a radar image layer and an AIS target layer and is displayed hierarchically.Then,the module of electronic chart is designed and implemented based on tile technology in the thesis.The process of tiled electronic charts display mainly includes the analysis of ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart)files,the conversion and storage of target data of charts,the drawing of electronic charts tiles and the display of electronic charts tiles.Next,the display of radar information is studied.Radar information display module is divides into data receiving module,data processing module and display module in the thesis.In order to achieve real-time updating and display of radar video images,coordinate index look-up table method is adopted in this thesis to achieve rapid conversion between polar coordinates and rectangular coordinates.At the same time,virtual memory is used to implement real-time updating of radar images.Finally,the fusion display of electronic charts and radar image is realized,at the same time the function and performance of the fusion display system are tested.In this thesis,the GPS(Global Positioning System)information is used as a position reference.The electronic chart and radar information are displayed in the same coordinate system to realize the real-time fusion display of the static target of the chart and the dynamic target of radar image which improve the accuracy of discrimination of static obstacles and dynamic targets.
