| With the development of internet data center,the data center has higher heat density and energy consumption.And the energy consumption of the air conditioning system accounts for a large proportion of the total energy consumption.As a result,it is significant to reduce the energy consumption of the air conditioning system on the premise of maintaining the normal operation of IT equipments.However,most air conditioning systems of data center cannot utilize the natural cooling source fully and has the freezing problem of their cooling towers.This paper presents an innovative air conditioning system based on indirect evaporative cooling tower.In summer,the indirect evaporative cooling tower,as the heat sink of the mechanical chiller,can produce cold cooling water whose thermal limit is the ambient dew point,leading to a high COP of the mechanical chiller.In winter,the indirect evaporative cooling tower works as the only source of refrigeration,and has perfect anti-freezing performance,due to the special structure of the device.And the indirect evaporative cooling tower can make full use of cold and dry air,prolong the time of free cooling and save energy as well.This kind of air conditioning system based on indirect evaporative cooling tower can be commissioned simply and safely over the year.This paper will first establish a mathematical model for this air conditioning system,which can calculate the operating performance and energy consumption of the air conditioning system under different weather conditions,and provide a tool for the system performance analysis.Secondly,the annual performance of air conditioning system’s based on different types of indirect evaporative cooling tower will be compared and analyzed.The commissioning strategy will be discussed.And the system will be compared with the air conditioning system with a conventional cooling tower.Then the air conditioning system will be tested in laboratory in different inlet air conditions.And the design method of the indirect evaporative cooling tower will be proposed.Finally,the air conditioning system of a data center in Urumqi will be designed. |
