The deformation and failure process of Mylar as diaphragms in shock tube and deformation regular of aluminum plates with per-formed under air-blast loading are studied in this article.Quasi-static tensile mechanical properties of Mylar in two different direction were given by quasistatic tensile experiment.In order to investigate the effect of diaphragms thickness and combinations on the maximum bearing pressure,the shock tube experiment was conducted on the PET diaphragms with different thicknesses.Two high-speed cameras were used to capture and record the entire deformation process of the PET diaphragms.Diaphragms displacement field of different moment were obtained by 3D-DIC.A special interesting phenomenon i.e.,the diaphragms was recurved and then dramatically ruptured,was observed and thus the diaphragm defamation can be divided into two stages.The diaphragms deformation of any thickness in first stage,and the shape characteristic of the diaphragm recurvation in second stage as well as the thickness variation during the whole process were analyzed.The opening time and area of diaphragm included in failure procedure of diaphragm were given and could be used in theory research.In order to get the relationship between air pressure in higher section in shock tube and speed and pressure of shock wave,shock tube in the laboratory was calibrated.Aluminum plates with different pre-formed holes include diamond,circle and square were under air-blast loading which generated by shock tube.The process of deformation of plates were recorded by two high speed cameras and analyzed by 3D-DIC later.The loading and deformation were synchronized by 3DDIC result and calibration of shock tube.To get more information in this process,ABAQUS were used to simulate this experiment with two different methods: Coupled Euler Lagrange method and un-coupled method.The conclusion of un-coupled method need significantly less time than CEL method and the accuracy of the two methods is approximately equal were proposed.The deformation regular of aluminum plates with pre-formed holes were given by research two different deformation curves and major focus points in simulation and DIC result.The effect of shape of pre-formed hole on aluminum bearing pressure were analyzed by comparing the failure loading of aluminum plates with three different pre-formed holes.
