With the increasing demand for customized customization of products,mass customization has become the research frontiers and development trend in the advanced manufacturing field.In order to meet the purpose of mass customization,providing efficient and low-cost personalized products enables enterprises to have faster response speed and higher responsiveness in the fierce competition of product development and product optimization.In this paper,adaptive design method is introduced into parametric product family optimization design,and the applicability of adaptive design method in product family design is discussed,in order to provide a new development method for designers.The main works of this paper are described in detail as follows:Chapter 1: The design process of crane drum and adaptive design method are analyzed in detail,and the adaptable design advantages in the drum design process are emphatically analyzed.Through the research of adaptive design background,adaptable design classification and market analysis of the drum,it can be applied to the design of drum,and it can quickly configure user personalized customization needs.At the end of the crane drum example design and calculation,get the design parameters in the drum of the matrix,in accordance with the strength and stability conditions,by adjusting one or more design parameters,design reuse information,implement new product derivatives,rapid response to user customization requirements,enhance the ability to adapt to the design.It provides a theoretical basis for the research in the later chapters.Chapter 2: According to the leader-follower characteristics between platform variables and custom variables in product family planning,a bi-level programming model and bi-level optimization model of product family planning are setup;The upper layer is the leader model to decision-making for platform parameters,and the lower layer is the follower model to decision-making for customization parameters in product variants.After the values of platform variables in the upper level model are assigned,each sub planning of the lower layer can be solved without relying on the platform parameters under certain conditions.The polynomial response surface method is used to fit the optimal function of the lower level programming,then,the bi-level optimization model is transformed into a general optimization model,and the genetic algorithm is used to solve the model within the constraint condition,so as to determine the values of platform parameters and customized parameters.Finally,an example on optimal design of product family for drum group is used to demonstrate the feasibility of the established model and proposed method.Chapter 3: From the level of product design parameters,the product family is divided into three parts: public parameters,platform parameters and custom parameters;on the basis of the chapter 2.For leader-follower characteristic of public parameters,platform parameters and custom parameters in product family design,a bi-level model and leader-follower correlation optimization model are developed.The adaptability of platform parameters is considered,and they are regarded as association parameters to transfer between the upper and lower in the model.After the values of platform variables in the upper level model are assigned,each sub-plan problem in the lower level model can be solved without relying on platform parameters under certain conditions.Simultaneously,incidence relation of platform parameters could be taken as relaxation constraints,and genetic algorithm is applied to solve the leader-follower correlation optimization model of the product family,which enables the product to respond quickly to the diverse needs of users and improve the adaptability of the platform.Finally,an example on optimal design of product family for drum is used to demonstrate the feasibility of the established model and proposed method.The research results show that the application of the proposed method in case product family planning can improve the adaptability of the platform,quickly respond to the dynamic needs of users,derive new products,and provides a new development method for designers,product engineers and researchers.
