Overtopping is an important indicator on the design of sloping seawall.One of its main application is to determine the crest elevation.The value of crest elevation is directly related to the safety of sloping seawall and the structure behind it,the investment of engineering and the ornamental of the coastal landscape.Therefore,It's necessary to calculate an accurate value of the overtopping to ensure the safety,economy and ornamental quality of sloping seawall.The numerical model is developed based on the continuity equation,Reynolds time-averaged Navier-Stokes equation of viscous fluid,the RNG k-? model and VOF method.A numerical wave flume using the active absorbing wave theory was established by the software of FLUENT,which can eliminate the secondary reflection wave produced by the wave forming end.The validity of numerical wave flume to simulate regular and irregular waves has been verified by comparing the wave The time series,spectral and wave parameters of numerical simulation with the target.The test results show that the constructed numerical flume can accurately and effectively simulate the target waves,and effectively eliminate the secondary reflection produced by the wave forming end.The numerical wave flume is used to simulate the overtopping of sloping seawall.The overtopping process and characteristics of sloping seawall under irregular waves are described.By the comparation between the mean overtopping discharge of numerical and physical model test,the accuracy of the numerical model to simulate the mean overtopping discharge of sloping seswall is verified.For the sloping seawall with crown-wall,the influence of crest elevation,slope ratio,the width and height of shoulder on mean overtopping discharge are analysed on the basis of verification of the result of model test and standard calculation.The conclusions are of great reference significance for the engineering design of sloping seawall.On the basis of the numerical study of mean overtopping discharge of sloping seawall under irregular waves,the rationality and accuracy of the numerical model for calculating the individual overtopping volume of sloping seawall is verified.In consideration of the lack of method for individual overtopping volume of sloping breakwater with crown-wall.Based on the numerical simulation results and relevant analysis,we try to present a new formula for calculating 1% individual overtopping volume of sloping seawall with crown-wall.By Combining the 1% formula with the normalized mean overtopping formula,the rationality and accuracy of the 1% formula are verified,which shows the formula proposed in this paper is reasonable,and it can calculate the individual overtopping volume accurately and effectively.And a new method is provided for the study and calculation of individual overtopping volume of sloping seawall with crown-wall.
