An Analysis Of The Application Of Circle And Shapes Derived From Circle In Architectural Plan

The circle is a geometric figure with unique meaning,and its application in architecture has a long history and diverse types.Architectural graphic design is an important part of architectural space design,and the application of the circle in architecture should be based on the plan.China's urbanization process by use of the international type "box" building and lead to the loss of urban character,at the same time,buildings tends to be dull by redundantly taking rectangle for space subdivision.Using circle in architecture plan design can enrich the city landscape and architectural space.The application of circles in the plan of building is of great practical significance and is worth thinking deeply by architects.The paper takes the application of circle in the architectural plan as the research object,on the basis of teasing out the development of the application of circle in the architectural plan.The research methods include viewing documents,studying cases,comparative analysis,field research and interdisciplinary research method.It has induced the rules of the application of circle in the building and analyzed the reasons behind these rules,mining round the function and significance of the application of circle in architectural plan,and summarized the related design approach,in order to make full use of advantages of the application of circle in architectural plan and let this geometric form play a valuable role in architecture design.It is hoped that the thesis can enrich the related theories of architectural history and architectural form,and provide reference for architects in their design works and for critics in their architectural review works.The full paper is divided into seven chapters:First,it has summarized the basic cognition of the circle.Secondly,it has divided the phenomena into several types from two perspectives: the specific morphological features of the circle in architectural plan and the objects that the circle restricts.It has also collected and combined the cases that circles are applicated in architectural plan in human history and generalized the characteristics of different types of space and the rules in the applications of circle in architectural plan.Then,it has analyzed the reasons behind the rules as previously mentioned and dialectical analyzed the characteristics of the application of circle in the architectural plan,including its function,significance and limitations.After that,it has summarized the corresponding design methods combining with the original theory of architectural design,as well as the particularity of the application of the circle in the architectural plan design.Finally,choose several typical examples for case analysis and make a design as an attempt,in order to make further analysis of the specific application of the circle in architectural plan.At last,summarize the whole text.
