For Tonghua mining company,with the rapid development of construction in recent years,the output of powdered iron increased from six hundred thousand tons per year to 1.28 million tons per year increased in the past three years.The multiplied output leaded to great increase of power load.Because of the continuity of big industrial production process,any link will all bring the bad consequence to project while going wrong,influence the normal operation of the construction work directly.Due to high soil resistance in Baishan slate mining area,many minefields and 38 to 40 thunderstorm days per year,lightning disaster accidents occur frequently.Once such accident occurs,it will directly affect the safety of entire power network and economic operation,which would also bring bad influences to production.Recently,the distribution facilities in slate mining area suffered lighting stroke for many times.The lighting accidents threatened to the safe and reliable operation of power network heavily.The blackouts in mining area are serious,which even threaten emergent evacuation.So it is essential to do lightning protection work,find hidden security problem ahead of time,correct the defect and consolidate the foundation of producing security in time.Guard against lightning disaster is of great significance to the safe and stable operation of the power system.The importance of safe and stable operation of the power system is obvious,so higher and more stringent requirements about electricity supply security have been put forward.Therefore,analyze lightning activities in slate mining area,study existing anti-lightning measurements,find out the defects and weak links of lightning protection of power grid and put forward specific lightning protection measures.This paper firstly investigated the present situation of lightning protection in mining area,and then learn the situation of lightning protection device use and lightning accidents.As for the two major parts of distribution facilities in mining area:distribution line and substation,using the theoretical analysis and calculation,experimental measurement and simulation methods,analyzing to identify special problems of lightning protection,putting forward the corresponding lightning protection measures according to these problems.Installing the adjustable clearance protection insulator for lines,optimizing the insulation disposition,realizing the protection of mine substation.Removing the unreasonable lightning protection device,such as tower lightning rod,combinative surge protector and so on.Reducing the ground resistance of pole and tower,optimizing the grounding network of substation and so on.Putting forward the corresponding lightning protection measures to guarantee the stable operation and safety production of power network in slate mining area.
