Investigation And Research On The Soundscape Of SuZhou Hanshan Temple

Sound environment can not only affect the construction of the landscape,but also affect people’s physiological and psychological conditions.Therefore,soundscape is an indispensable part of landscape construction,and its design is closely related to people’s life.Temple garden is an important part of Chinese classical gardens,and its soundscape plays an important role in the overall landscape construction,religious cultural heritage and other aspects.As one of the top ten famous temples in China,Hanshan Temple has a long history and rich cultural connotations,but little research has been done on it.Therefore,in this paper,based on the evaluation research of soundscape,the soundscape resources of Hanshan Temple are sorted out and summarized,the sound elements are extracted,the sound environment is measured by objective sound level measurement and subjective questionnaire survey,the preference of each sound element and the overall sound level are analyzed and discussed,and the measured data are phased by SPASS software.Finally,the optimization strategy of Hanshan Temple soundscape is proposed.Through research,it is found that:(1)Among all kinds of sound elements in Hanshan Temple,the natural sound such as water sound and plant sound is the most popular,the activity sound such as brahman’s chorus and selling sound is the second,and the artificial sound such as loudspeaker sound and car traffic sound is the lowest.(2)The sound level of Hanshan Temple is higher than usual level on holidays,indicating that the flow of people has a greater impact on the overall sound level of Hanshan Temple.(3)The area with high vegetation coverage and small flow of people has smaller sound level,the area with large flow and frequent exchanges such as entrance has larger sound level.(4)There was a significant positive correlation between people’s preference for soundscape and coordination of soundscape,in addition,these two factors and the flow of people was negatively correlation.and the favorability of the soundscape is negatively correlated with the objective sound level,indicating that people’s demand for the soundscape of the temple garden is more inclined to a quiet environment.This paper also gets the following optimization strategies:(1)The noise in the entrance area is blocked by the structure and multi-level plant arrangement,and the use of loudspeakers is reduced,so as to reduce the overall noise in the sound environment of Hanshan Temple.(2)Increasing the green area,enriching the plant species and adding the dynamic water scenery such as artificialfalling properly,so that the construction of natural soundscapes can be strengthened.(3)Through the unique architecture and interior decorations of the temple gardens,the solemnity of the environment should be properly created to enhance the overall quiet atmosphere of the temple gardens.(4)Hanshan Templeis divided into several soundscape function area,and the sound level is controlled by the partition.(5)Marking system is used to mark the history and culture of the symbolic soundscape,and to reproduce the bell sounds and other historical sound elements at night berths,so that people can feel and understand the sound scene more intuitively.
