With the rapid development of society and technology,automobiles have become an indispensable travel tool in China.As a result,the number of vehicles on the road explodes,which has brought huge challenges to the urban transportation system.Besides,traffic congestion has hindered the rapid development of the city.Existing measures,including massive construction of subways and highways,enhancement of public transport services,and construction of viaducts,could not satisfactorily solve the problem of traffic congestion caused by the rapid growth of vehicles in modern society.The key factor in improving the traffic capacity of urban traffic roads and reducing congestion is the signal control and planning of urban road intersections.Therefore,to a certain extent,the core of urban traffic control lies in the control and optimization of road traffic lights at urban intersections.As the computer and software technology level,and the control level of the traffic capacity of intersections are continuously improved,the control of urban traffic signals has become the focus of research scholars in various countries.Firstly,the thesis summarized the development history and research status of traffic lights at home and abroad.Secondly,to achieve the timing control of traffic lights at single intersections of urban roads,a mathematical model was proposed,which was used to establish the average waiting time for vehicles and pedestrians based on the real-time video acquisition of vehicle and pedestrian information,taking into consideration vehicle green time,pedestrians crossing green time and periodic constraints.Moreover,to minimize the average waiting time of vehicles and pedestrians,an evolutionary algorithm based on the state space model was used to optimize and determine the signal light timing,and the optimal vehicle signal light time and pedestrian crossing signal light time were obtained.Subsequently,the vehicle and the corresponding pedestrian crossing signal light time in the direction allowing to go straight were unified,with the larger value as the signal light time of the direction.With the use of MATLAB simulation platform for data simulation,the timing distribution of the signal light and the objective function value were compared under three different situations(vehicles are more than pedestrians,vehicles are less than pedestrians,and vehicles are similar to pedestrians)to verify the validity of the model and the effect of weight coefficients on vehicle and pedestrian traffic lights.Compared with the fixed-time control,the average waiting time of vehicles and pedestrians was reduced,and the timing distribution of the vehicle and the pedestrian crossing signal light was more reasonable when the timing distribution of signal lights was based on real-time vehicle and pedestrian information,providing a reference for the timing optimization of traffic lights.
