With the rapid development of the automotive industry,automotive parts have been gradually automated from design to manufacture,but the assembly phase,especially for smaller pistons with medium parts,is still in the manual assembly stage.A piston rod needs to be assembled with multiple parts,and the parts also have mutual assembly position requirements.Therefore,factors such as missing and misplaced factors affect the assembly efficiency.In particular,the assembly of the seal ring and the steel ring on the piston rod needs to be assembled after the size of the part is enlarged.In the manual assembly process,it is difficult to accurately grasp the strength of the support,which may easily lead to damage of the part.Insufficient manual assembly results in deviations in the assembly position of the part and affects assembly quality.In order to change the traditional piston rod assembly mode to improve the assembly quality and efficiency,this paper designs an automatic assembly machine that can be compatible with various types of piston rods through the research of automated assembly technology,which realizes the automation in the assembly process of the piston rod.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1.Analyze the structure of piston rods and parts of different models,and establish the table of similarities and differences of piston rods of various models.Combine the manual assembly process and assembly technical indicators to determine the layout of each station of the equipment.2.Based on the module design flow chart and the overall layout requirements,the piston rod quick clamping mechanism,the lifting adjustment compatible mechanism,the indexing intermittent conveying mechanism,the O-ring sealing assembly system,the dust ring assembly system,and the steel ring assembly are completed.The design of the system and the selection of its key components enable the automated assembly process.3.Using ANSYS Workbench software to carry out finite element analysis on the key parts of the whole frame,rotating disk and motor support.The analysis results show that the design mechanism meets the strength requirements and there is no resonance phenomenon.Interference operation simulation is carried out on the structural design of the whole machine.The simulation results show that the designed mechanism runs smoothly without interference problems.The failure data is statistically analyzed,and the reliability analysis of the piston rod automatic assembly machine is carried out based on the failure mode analysis method,and the failure mode library is established.4.Perform corresponding performance measurement on the assembled prototype:repeated positioning accuracy,assembly efficiency and defective rate of the rotary disk.The test data was recorded and analyzed,and the results were obtained: the assembly of a single workpiece was about 7.15 s,the assembly defective rate was0.668%,and the repeat positioning accuracy was repeated.The above verification data meet the enterprise technical indicators.
