Research On Virtual Reality Simulation System Of 500kV Substation

With the advancement of society and the development of technology,the electricity consumption of the whole society is constantly improving,and the equipment in substation is updated,and new technologies are being introduced.The500 kV hub substation is an important part of the power system,and its stable operation is crucial to the stability and reliability of the power system.Therefore,training for the relevant staff of the hub substation is very necessary.A simulation training system based on virtual reality technology for 500 kV substation is developed in this paper because there are some disadvantages in current simulation training system,such as lack of specificity.The system has been transformed into a prototype of a 500 kV hub in Henan.And we analyzed the needs of system development and identified two major objectives: virtual substation scenario development and substation simulation function development.The substation scenario development is based on the physical substation structure.The substation equipment models are restored by 1:1 through polygon modeling technology,and then we did some work to optimize visual effects and reduce memory of the models.Then import the model into Unity software and add plug-ins such as lights,sky boxes,collision bodies,personal controllers and terrain to get realistic virtual substation scenes.Simulation system functions are also developed in the Unity engine.Four basic functions,Equipment learning,roaming,operation drilling,fault simulation,are implemented through animation control,GUI development and scripting.In addition,desktop virtual reality and immersive virtual reality synchronous operation was achieved by using the display device HTC Vive.The 500 kV substation virtual reality simulation training system designed in this paper has created a complete virtual substation scenario and realized some training functions.There are the advantages of small investment,strong immersion and convenient operation in this system,which can effectively improve the simulationtraining effect.And this system is not only suitable for substation staff training,but also for students related to electrical engineering in colleges and universities.This system applies virtual reality technology to the field of power system simulation training,and provides new ideas and exploration for power system simulation training.
