As the demand of urban railway transportation increasing in recent years in China,metro engineering,which is a representation of urban railway engineering,grows up rapidly as well as faces some challenges,for example the higher workload,the tighter project schedule,the more difficult construction technology in use,these also bring challenges to safety management of projects.Although it is priority to keep construction safe in process,there still exist many problems in construction safety management based on CAD drawings,for it is a inefficient way to exchange information,coordination among different department,and to find risk in construction site in time.Also,there are other problems such as decisions making for safety often rely on personal experience.However,with the help of BIM(Building Information Modeling)combined with other advanced technique like cloud computing technology,there will be a more efficient way to find and show risks,as well as enhance collaboration and form a more accurate and refined management,which means an obvious change of safety management workflow in construction.Based on the problems and challenges in safety management in constrution,a BIM cloud platform will be build in multi technology combination in this research,including BIM and cloud technology,finite element analysis theory and game engine development.The first step is to explore.ifc format document structure and way of data exchange,then find the method and mechanism of.ifc format model transfer into.sat format and lightweight data format.The next step is to use BIM model in structural analysis,which is import the.sat model transfered by.ifc format into ABAQUS,then make the simulation of the structure and get the result of stress and deformation of the model,and compare the result with correspond monitoring data in construction site to explore the feasibility of simulation with BIM model,which includes two metro projects in Beijing Subway construction.The third step is to use Unity3 D to develop the platform,which can run in most PC and Android devices,the function include BIM model roaming and view of property imformation,the progressing of construction,display of simulation result and monitoring data,the comparison between simulation and monitoring,and alert based on comparison result.The last step is to use these two projects to examine the function of platform,to make sure the platform can work well in other metro projects.The result of platform examination indicates feasibility of theory framework as well as technique route of research.Firstly,it proves that BIM model can expand the application of Building Information Modeling in work of structural analysis,it can cut off large amount of time of repeat modeling but still with a good accuracy of simulation result,which is less than10% with monitoring data on average.Secondly,it is a more direct and efficient way to communicate and collaboration among different department by the use of BIM,which can help people find more risks timely in construction site so that to make project safer.Last but not least,making platform with Unity3 D can take full advantage of open source and multi-platform support of game engine,which can meet the special needs of metro engineering,however,the platform will be more intelligent and with more fantastic function with help of Artificial Intelligence(AI)in the future.
