Xingtai is an important study area of archaeological research of Shang and Xizhou dynasties. There are many Shang and Xizhou dynasties' sites in Qili river basin in Xingtai, among them, the discovery of Dongxianxian Site and Gejiazhuang Site confirmed that the capital "Xing" of Shang and the captial of Xingguo Metropolis in the Xizhou dynasty located in Xingtai. But we havn't found the walls or the palaces of those two cities through the archaeological survey.By using remote sensing technology, without drilling and excavation,we can acquire information about relics which on the surface or subsurface on the earth, such as the location and outline of the relics.Because of that, this study,as a part of the project "The exploration of capital city in the Shang dynasty during Zu Yi's reign and the captial of Xingguo Metropolis in the Xizhou dynasty in Xingtai",applies geographic spatial analysis and remote sensing technology to archaeological research, aims to provide a method for exploring the large-scale soil building construction relics in the Shang and Zhou d ynasties in Xingtai. The research objects are the Shang and Zhou dynasties sites in Xingtai, and the detection region is between Qili River and Baima River in Xingtai. The features of the relics similar to the detection target are analyzed from archaeolo gical data,in order to set a radius for the buffer analysis, then the important Shang and Zhou sites in our study area are taken as the centers for buffer analysis to determine the detection region.Meanwhile, this thesis uses an integral GIS and remote sensing method which also references the historical and archaeological findings,to reconstruct the ancient hydrological environment in Xingtai. After that, the environmental characteristics of the Shang and zhou sites were analyzed to find out which kind of places that humans tend to lived in at that time, and then the archaeological prediction model was established to predict the site location probability in Xingtai. Then obtain the areas where with high possibility of relic distribution, and take it as a key remote sensing detection area.Afterwards,multi-source remote sensing images of this region are collected to identify suspected remains, including the high resolution UAV ima ge and the LiDAR data, and SVF image is produced to improve the accuracy of visual interpretation.NDVI time-series integral images are produced to extract areas that may have suspected relics.Applying image enhancement techniques such as spatial autocorrelation analysis to extract the feature of those suspected relics. Finally, field investigation are conducted on some suspected relics to verify their property. The research constructs a spatial remote sensing detection syste m from knowing fields to unknowing fields, from macroscopic aspect to microscopic aspect, and provides a new idea for RS archaeological research on sites of Shang and Zhou dynasties in Xingtai.Based on archaeological data,GIS and remote sensing methods are applied to the research of relic detection. The locations of suspected areas with high probability of target relics in the study area are obtained, which can be the clue of research on the Xing in the Shang dynasty during ZuYi's reign and the captial of Xingguo Metropolis in the Xizhou dynasty.
