Subway environmental control system accounts for more than 30% of the whole energy consumption in subway station,which has a great potential of energy saving.The platform door system with controllable vents is an innovative environmental control system which combines the advantages of platform bailout door system and platform screen door system.The paper focused on the energy performance of the platform door system with controllable vents.A full-scaled geometrical model of a subway station was built based on Zhongjie station in Shenyang subway line 1.The piston effect on the environment of subway station during the process of train arrival and departure was simulated by using the dynamic mesh method.The simulation results were validated with the experimental data of the velocity field and temperature field.The validated numerical model was used to analyze the environment of the station for optimizing the controllable vents of platform doors including position and size.On the premise of meeting the requirements in single train and two-train conditions,the controllable vents operation schemes were put forward respectively in island platform and in side platform.In order to prevent too much cold air entering into the station in winter,the open angle of controllable vents was simulated according to the demand of fresh air in winter.Based on the controllable vents operation schemes,the paper proposed five operation modes for the platform door system with controllable vents.Then the platform door system with controllable vents was applied to subway stations with island platforms in five cities which represented five different climatic zones.The temperature of the station was analyzed,and the energy consumption of ventilation system during the controllable vents open was calculated.The results showed that the effect of energy saving was significant compared with the traditional platform screen door system.
