When used in composite material structure,it is often necessary to have holes,connections or notch inevitably.Notched damaged the continuity of fiber,changed the structure of power transmission line,make the structure produce stress concentration near the notch area due to local stiffness mutation,the material damage of the stress concentration will reduce the strength of composite material structure and service life.For structural designers,it is essential to understand the mechanical properties of this notched fiber reinforced composites.This paper summarizes previous strength of composite laminated plate notch prediction method,reviews the three-dimensional numerical simulation model of composite materials,and collates the data of previous experimental work.This paper,using the light transmission method to observe damage extension phenomenon of glass fiber composite material in tensile test,using macro shooting method to observe matrix damage in the material layer and focusing on the crack damage mode of hole edge of stress,clearly observes matrix damage along the fiber direction,which provides the basis for the numerical simulation modeling method.In this paper,a numerical model based on continuum damage mechanics,by means of the criterion of Puck and based on the stress of the secondary criterion separately determine the initial damage in the layer and between the layers.After failure,use linear softening model to simulate the material damage evolution.The model takes into account the position effect.In ABAQUS software,combined with the self-made VUMAT subroutine,consider alleviate stress concentration phenomenon near the notch in the process of modeling,align grid,make each layer of grid edges along the fiber direction,cohesive behavior attribute simulation in the interlayer,compared with the test results in the literature,that the model can predict any material system and layer parameters of laminated plates under the action of tensile load of damage failure process and failure load.Compared with the calculation results in the literature,the method of prediction accuracy is higher,its validity is verified.
