Research On Space And Spacialevolution Of Traditional Water Transport Market Towns In Wanjiang Tributaries

The Yangtze River basin has always been the center of the epoch-making economy,and Wanjiang River is an important part of the Yangtze River.In Qing dynasty,the commodity economy in Wanjiang River basin flourished,and gradually formed a relatively perfect market network system and commodity transportation system.Wuhu became the highest center of the regional market.This thesis chooses Qingyijiang and Shuiyangjiang,the main tributaries of the Yangtze River in Wuhu and Xuancheng areas,as the research object,focusing on the growth mechanism,settlements and architectural features of traditional water transport towns under the joint action of the feudal regional market economic system and traditional transportation background,and the spatial structure changes of traditional water transport towns in recent times under the impact of modern transportation modes.Based on the analysis of historical data and field investigation,this thesis firstly expounds the situation of traditional market system and water transport network system in the pre-industrial era,clarifies the positioning of traditional water transport market towns in the two systems,and analyzes the reasons of the decline of traditional water transport network system and the influence brought by the rise of modern land transportation.Secondly,through in-depth investigation of several typical samples in the region-ancient town Xihe,Yijiang Town in Wuhu City,Sun bu Town in Xuancheng City,Shuidong Town,Chi Tan Town,Zhangdu Town and other towns,this thesis analyzes the characteristics and connotation of traditional water transport market towns from different levels such as market town location,market town spatial layout and traditional building construction in the traditional water transport era.In the end,the thesis analyzes the decline and transformation of market towns’ functions to different degrees under the influence of traffic transformation,and the external form of market towns develops from " dwelling by water" to " dwelling by road",and the market town core gradually shifts to new towns,and the street space and building pattern inside the town have undergone great changes,and thus many problems have arisen.In the appendix,combining with the protection planning cases of Sun Bu Town in Xuancheng City and ancient town Xihe in Wuhu,this thesis puts forward the protection and renewal scheme for the existing problems of the town.
