With the continuous development of the social economy,the rapid increase in the number of motor vehicles in urban areas has led to a series of problems such as urban traffic congestion and frequent traffic accidents.The road network's efficiency has been greatly reduced,which severely limits the city's sustainable development.On the other hand,along with the increase of traffic load,the travel time of urban road network greatly increases,and the travel time stability cannot be ensured,making it impossible for the traveler to reach the destination on time,and the demand for high-quality travel cannot be met.Therefore,this paper proposes a traffic signal timing optimization method for urban road network intersections considering travel time reliability.The main research content of this article includes the following aspects.First,the road network is selected and the data recorded by RFID base station are matched to obtain the road section travel time data.The reliability of the travel time of road sections is studied within a certain time and space range.The results show that the reliability of the travel time of the road section is closely related to the change of the road section travel time,and different travel time reliability indexes can reflect the change of the travel time fluctuation of the road section from different dimensions.Secondly,the main factors affecting trffic signal timing of intersections are analyzed,the main parameters and the main performance indicators of regional traffic signal control are introduced.On this basis,the average value of the buffering time indexes of the road segments is used as an objective function to establish a traffic signal control model in the urban area.The existing intelligent algorithms are compared,and the particle swarm algorithm is used to optimize the traffic signal timing parameters of intersections.Finally,a regional traffic control system based on Paramics simulation software is established.The road network in downtown Nanjing is selected as the research object,the optimized model and regional traffic control system are applied to optimize the traffic signal control parameters of the actual road network.The performance evaluation indexes of the optimized traffic signal timing plan for intersections are calculated and compare it with the traffic signal timings plan optimized by other optimization models,indicating that the traffic signal timing plan generated by using the optimization model established in this paper can not only effectively guarantee the stability of road network travel time but also improve the traffic efficiency of the vehicles in the road network to some extent.Based on the existing research,this paper combines the travel time reliability theory with the regional traffic signal control theory,and establishes a traffic signal timing optimization model that can improve the travel time reliability of the road network.This model is of great significance for improving the service quality of the transportation system.
