As the main equipment for protecting and regulating and stabilizing the power system,reactors,especially 10 kV dry type air core series reactors,have been more and more widely used in power systems in recent years,so that the system power quality and harmonic control have been Significant improvement.However,after the long-term operation of the reactor,there were a lot of problems,some were forced to stop processing,and some of the burning equipment even gradually evolved into a power grid accident,which seriously affected the safe production operation of the power system.The insulation material of the 10 kV dry type air core series reactor is affected by various factors(electric field,heat,mechanical stress,environmental factors)during operation,and complex physical and chemical changes occur inside,which will lead to the gradual deterioration of insulation performance.Once the reactor has a burnout failure,there is no way to repair it on site.It must be powered off for overall replacement.The inspection time and difficulty are far greater than other fault defects,which consume a lot of manpower and material resources.Therefore,it is necessary to study the failure of the reactor burning,to effectively prevent and reduce the failure rate of the reactor.This paper introduces the function and structure of 10 kV dry type air core series reactor,and then carries out detailed statistics on fault defects.The direct cause of the fault of the reactor is the short-circuit between the turns,and then from the outside and inside.The root cause of deep excavation reactor burnout failure includes five external causes-over pressure,over current,wet contamination,protection failure,lack of repair,and five internal causes-overheating,thermal expansion and contraction,mechanical load,Improper design and poor process.Aiming at the root cause of the defect of the turn-to-turn insulation of 10 kV dry type air core series reactor,and put forward a feasible solution for the other root causes from operation and design,it is in operation.The same type of equipment failure provides theoretical and practical basis to fundamentally solve the problem of reactor burnout failure.
