Research On The Application Of GSM-R Network In Railway Communication

The GSM-R railway digital mobile communication system was for the railway application requirements.In addition,it developed based on the GSM platform of the public wireless communication system.That is,adding elements which meet the requirements of the railway transportation environment and dispatching command functions in the GSM cellular system.This technology also meets relevant requirements related to railway special dispatch,which requested by International Railway Union.The main applications of GSM-R in China’s railway communication are: dispatch communication function,train number transmission and train stop information transmission function,dispatch command transmission function,train tail equipment information transmission function,shunting machine locomotive signal and monitoring information system transmission Function,and train control data transmission function.GSM-R network has improved the railway mobile communication system comprehensively.Its digital wireless communication platform can meet the application needs of various railway businesses and lay the foundation for the construction of information railway.In this paper,the basic structure of the GSM-R system and its main features was analyzed.Currently,China Railway Hohhot Group Co.,Ltd.has completed the GSM-R network and put it into practical use.This paper mainly illustrated the application of the system in passenger and freight services,safe operation of trains,control of train operation,dispatching and commanding,by combining the network structure of GSM-R,the actual operation of GSM-R in railway,and the operation of railway passenger transport operation.In this paper,the specific situations that occur in the maintenance of GSM-R based on the actual operation has also been analyzed.It proposes specific fault location and judgment methods for the abnormal situation of the train route advance notice.It also summarized and studied the abnormal situation of train route advance notices in actual cases,proposed corrective measures,and finally solved the actual problems.
