As an important part in the research of automotive safety, when accident occurs, the design of front structure will directly affect the protection of pedestrians. In this thesis,a compact SUV was taken as the research object, based on Euro NCAP pedestrian protection regulations,in order to optimize the vehicle frontal structure, the methods of numerical simulation and experimental analysis was adopted, and eventually achieved the five-star standard of pedestrian protection. The main content is as follows:(1)According to the statistical results and the test process, the five-star target is decomposed into the target score of the head, upper leg, lower leg.Based on the analysis of the experimental results, the method of transforming head target score into the specific HIC target of each collision point is studied.(2)Objective experimental data is combined to verify the existing FEA model,HyperMesh is used in further refine of the front parts,LS-DYNA is used for simulation analysis after the simplification of the pedestrian protection FEA model(3)In the process of optimization, the method of the Stepwise optimization of the region is used to optimize each point in each region. The hinge structure of the engine hood is redesigned, which mainly focuses on the basic requirements of stiffness and strength, the goal of pedestrian head protection is realized,too.(4)After the optimization, the improved parts are checked separately, and basically meet the design requirements. The simulation test of the compact SUV is carried out,the results indicate that The car in the pedestrian protection eventually reached the Euro NCAP five-star standard.
