| The traditional timber buildings of south Yangtze River regions played an irreplaceable role in promoting the development of ancient architecture in China. The existing ancient buildings south Yangtze River regions have important scientific, artistic, and cultural values. They are invaluable cases to explore traditional timber buildings in China. However, south Yangtze River regions, especially the southeastern coastal areas, are frequently attacked by strong winds or even typhoons. There are numerous reports about that traditional timber buildings in south Yangtze River regions suffered from wind damage. Therefore,in order to scientifically protect traditional timber buildings in south Yangtze River regions from wind damage. This paper takes the Traditional timber buildings in south Yangtze River regions, mainly those built during Song & Yuan Dynasties and the Ming & Qing Dynasties were taken as the research object to conducts the study on the figure coefficient simulation and the wind-induced vibration performance. My thesis firstly starts taking the main hall of Tianning Temple and drum tower in Nanjing as examples to comb and summarize the structural characteristics, layout and roof types of timber frame of the traditional timber buildings in south Yangtze River regions in China. Then, the wind field of the main hall of Tianning Temple and the drum tower were numerically simulated by CFD software FLUENT,and the flow conditions, characteristics of wind pressure distribution, average distribution coefficient of wind pressure, and shape coefficient of stuctures were obtained. Finally, the calculation model of the main hall of Tianning Temple and the drum tower were set up by finite element(FE)software SAP2000 and the dynamic characteristics were analyzed. Before that, using MATLAB to compile random fluctuating wind speed and generate wind pressure schedules. The time-history wind pressure was applied to the FE model to calculate structural response and a series of results were obtained as follows: displacement, stress and acceleration spectrum of the structure,etc..The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the routine maintenance and repair of traditional timber buildings in south Yangtze River regions in China. At the same time, they can also provide guidance for wind resistance design of antique timber structures with similar structural shapes in the future. |
