As the critical process in modern shipbuilding,research of weld design is of great importance to hull structure's bearing capacity,reducing welding deformation,simplifying assembly process,shortening manufacturing cycle and reducing production consumption.Weld factor is widely applied in hull structure weld design,after years of evolution,the specification of weld factor is proposed,however the complete data source of which can't be found.Aiming at verifying security of weld factor 's applying in hull structure design,weld strength in hull structure is theoretically analyzed,fillet weld in combined steel specimen is tested,finite element model is calculated,results are shown as listed below:(1)Welding theory widely used in steel structure is elaborated,which is further extended to hull structure.Application of fillet weld in hull structure is introduced,and weld factor widely used in shipbuilding is illustrated;(2)Mechanical performance of weld in hull structure is studied.An approximate method of weld stress measuring is proposed.Results of fillet weld in combined steel specimen tests and finite element model calculation and analysis show consistency of test surface shear stress,theoretical weld shear stress,and weld shear stress in finite element model,which verified accuracy of stress measuring method,shows applicability of welding theory in hull structure designing;(3)Two destructive tests are designed,combined with results of Abaqus modeling and calculation,by contrast of failure load from test and theoretical calculation,emergency capacity is contained,security of weld factor is verified.(4)Finite element model of an oil tank's cargo hold is calculated and analyzed,weld stress in several hull position is extracted,emergence capacity of weld strength is obtained,which verifies rationality and security of weld factor used in CSR oil tank hull structure stipulated by<Steel Sea Vessel Classification Rules>,chapter 9,section 6.
