In recent years,the rapid development of China's economy has promoted the rise of a large number of urban agglomerations in the Pearl River Delta,the Yangtze River Delta,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Chengyu and Guanzhong.In 2017,the State Council proposed the concept of “World-class City Group” in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macau.Meanwhile,the concept of "intercity highway" is an emerging concept which arises with the rise of China's major urban agglomerations.Inter-city roads have urban service functions,which combines the urban planning areas or planning affected areas,which.For inter-city highway,a large number of plane intersections except interchanges are places where various types of traffic flow are distributed and accessed.The intercity highway have the characteristics such as fast speed,large traffic volume,large trucks and many non-motor vehicles,which mainly because inter-city highway have the functions of urban roads and highways.So,the original design concept and design scheme cannot fully meet the traffic demand of the intersection.Therefore,it is of great significance to carry out optimization research on inter-city road intersections.First of all,this paper investigates the connecting highway of typical urban agglomerations in China,which mainly collects and analyzes the data of intersection geometric parameters,traffic volume,channelization methods and signal control methods for several typical inter-city highway in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta.It also is summarized traffic characteristics of motor vehicles,non-motor vehicles and pedestrians at intersections of inter-city highway.According to the theory of traffic conflicts,the paper also proposes the traffic conflict characteristics of existing inter-city road intersections are analyzed,and the existing problems of inter-city road intersections.Secondly,for the problem of large vehicles at intersections,Vissim simulation software was used to build different models of truck simulation models.This simulation is constructed according to different design vehicles and the basic model of calculation of saturated flow rate at intersections of inter-city highway.Besides,the intersection capacity of the intersection is corrected and the minimum spacing of the plane intersection is calculated according to the lane change model.Thirdly,considering the spatial separation of traffic flow,the paper researches the number of imported lanes and lane width of motor vehicles at the entrance.Meanwhile,the conditions and methods for setting the left-turn dedicated lanes are proposed.Based on the safe problem of mixing right-turning motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles,the Autoturn simulation software is used to study the minimum turning radius of various types of trucks.Besides,the method and evaluation index of the right-turn safety of non-motor vehicles under the condition of increasing the proportion of trucks are proposed,which is designed to provide guidance for inter-city road intersections.Fourthly,based on the principle of separating traffic flow from time,the inter-city road plane cross signal control is studied.In this part,the phase sequence design method of inter-city road is proposed,and the deficiency of the original signal timingmethod is analyzed.According to the characteristics of inter-city road traffic and the intersection channelization method,a multi-objective signal period calculation model is constructed,which based on minimum motor vehicle delay,minimum non-motor vehicle delay,minimum stop number and maximum capacity.Besides,the particle swarm algorithm use Matlab software to analyse.Finally,aiming at the existing inter-city road intersection-existing problems,which happened in the intersection of Guangshen Avenue and Xinsha Avenue,an integrated channelization method and signal timing scheme are proposed.The Vissim simulation system is used to verify the optimization effect.According to the simulation experiments,the decline of several numbers verifies the scientificity and practicability of the paper's method.These numbers include the delay of the mouth,the number of stops,the length of the queue,and the travel time.
