With the continuous development of the western region of China, has built a number of desert highway, there are many related research achievements, but the low level of desert highway, the evaluation of this part of the research content is less performance application and road on Aeolian sand in highway,This paper is based on the project of Xinjiang,Through the indoor test, the mechanical properties, strength characteristics and settlement characteristics of aeolian sand are studied comprehensively:(1)Experimental study on mechanical properties of aeolian sand.Including settlement characteristics, compaction characteristics, strength characteristics and highway subgrade construction bearing ratio.collect the aeolian sand samples near the expressway, and carry out the mechanical property test and analysis.Understand the basic properties of aeolian sand.(2)The effect of compaction characteristics of aeolian sand subgrade on pavement performance is studied. The stability of the Aeolian sand Subgrade is evaluated by a number of indices.and through the corresponding road surface multiple performance test indicators comparison, further analysis of the impact of evaluation characteristics.(3)Settlement analysis and evaluation of characteristics of aeolian sand subgrade. On the basis of field observation, the settlement model is established, and then the settlement law of aeolian sand subgrade is analyzed and evaluated.Using the finite element software ANSYS Workbench to analyze the settlement law of subgrade with different compaction degree under the action of traffic load.(4)Study on construction technology of aeolian sand as roadbed filler.Sand by wet compaction and construction of sand layer partition compaction, after testing the optimum moisture content is 16%.
