As one of the pillar industries of China's industry,the automobile industry has developed rapidly in the past decade and gradually formed a complete industrial manufacturing system.However,in the face of the rise of emerging industries in today's society,the automobile industry as a traditional industry like a huge wheel has to make adjustments to survive and go-ahead.As the saying goes,the small ship could easy to change course,but the huge wheel of the automobile industry has been difficult to make subversive innovations,only make the gradual change base on the existing manufacturing system in order to meet the needs of today's rapidly changing to survive.From 1990 to 2017,China's auto industry experienced 28 consecutive years of growth.in 2018,the domestic auto industry has the first negative growth.It can be seen that China's automobile industry has entered a period of slow growth,Adjustment must be made immediately.Due to the high quality requirement of the automotive industry,there are many studies on quality control and cost reduction in new product development,and there are few studies on shortening the development cycle.M company has complete new product development project management system,which in America and Europe is used widely,and can effectively control product quality.However,the blunt copying in China shows its drawbacks,and the blunt and cumbersome process often leads to new products delay in development.Through the analysis of the existing new product development project management process of M Company,through the theoretical and literature research methods,combing current new product development process in M Company,and conducts in-depth interviews with various departments managers in M Company through the interview method.Organizing workshops to identify problems in the development of M's new products from multiple perspectives,in order to minimize risks,it identifies three new aspects of low-risk new product development projects.Firstly,identify the new project as a global project or a local project from a geographical perspective.Secondly,identify the complexity of the project;finally,determine the project level for the new project.Then based on the premise of SGS(Stage-Gate System)theory,APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning)theory and IPD(Integrated Product Development)theory to optimize the development process of low-risk new product development projects.The optimization of the process based on the above three theories combined with the original new product development process of M Company is mainly carried out from the following three aspects.Firstly,according to the asynchronous development model and reusability theory in IPD theory,the historical design data of M company is modularized and organized into a database,so that the new product is referenced to the flexible modular design at the beginning of design,On the one hand,it can reduce the cost of procurement,on the other hand,it can shorten the development cycle of prototype.Secondly,according to the requirements of synchronous engineering in APQP theory,improve the application efficiency of synchronous engineering in the development process and combine the SGS theory to move up the responsibilities of supplier quality,on-site process and launch logistics to the beginning of project then problem was discovered earlier,ensuring the quality of the product meanwhile achieving the goal of shortening the product development cycle.After optimization,the new development process is more flexible,not only to meet the individual needs of customers,but also to meet the requirements of customers'new product development time,while also ensuring the controllability of cost and quality,effectively improving the development of new products,effectiveness.Finally,due to the special requirements of the automotive industry for quality stability,this paper focuses on risk analysis and proposes control and solution for new products developed which using this rapid development process,so that risks can be controlled and effectively reduced.However,this new product rapid development process also has its shortcomings and limitations,because it is only applicable to specific new product development projects,and some of its risks are difficult to show in the short term,it needs to be continuously optimized in the future implementation process.In recent years,China's domestic car brands have quietly emerged,occupying more and more market share,and the competition with foreign auto brands has become increasingly fierce.In the face of the growing domestic automakers,we are delighted at the same time and on the other hand,the gap of management between both is also worrying.At the same time,the decline in domestic passenger car sales in 2018 has made the original fierce market competition worse.This paper hopes to provide reference for Chinese auto companies,not only to optimize the process of new product development,but also to effectively improve the efficiency of their development,and contribute to the Chinese automotive industry.
