The Application Of Metaphor Technique Of Chinese Garden In Modern Landscape Design

Modern landscape design with the traditional field of many design methods and principles to enrich their own design methods,modern landscape design by reference to other fields of design methods and principles to make its own design more flexibility and diversity.In modern landscape design,in addition to the emphasis on intuitive expression and meaning,it is also necessary to express the connotation and culture of modern landscape design through certain metaphorical and symbolic expressions.Metaphor is a very common technique in Chinese gardens.The essence of metaphor is to use one concept to understand another.In the field of landscape design,both are effective means to express certain emotions based on human experience.As a design method and thought,metaphor plays an important role in landscape design.At present,China’s landscape architecture industry is developing rapidly,but many subsequent phenomena of "one side of a thousand cities" and "one side of a thousand gardens" make people reflect,and most of the landscape architecture design works in cities are only considered from the aspects of function and formal beauty,lacking of urban image characteristics and cultural connotation.As a design means to explore the deep meaning,metaphorical design is an important method to highlight the regional attribute and place spirit of landscape architecture design works.At present,there are still many limitations in the metaphorical design of landscape architecture in China.On the other hand,a large number of metaphorical designs are just simple likeness,and the metaphor of profound meaning is yet to be explored.Often appear some culture stack,symbol collage phenomenon.However,the research on metaphor design at home and abroad focuses on architecture,product design and post-modern landscape design,and there is little systematic research on metaphor in landscape design.This paper discusses the application of metaphor in Chinese gardens in modern landscape design and introduces the research on metaphor in gardens and the application of metaphor in modern landscape design.Firstly,this paper analyzes the application of metaphor in Chinese classical gardens,introduces its application scope and types,analyzes its basic application ideas,introduces its basic principles,and introduces the application types of metaphor and symbolism in modern landscapedesign.Taking ganzhou hakka cultural city as an example,this paper analyzes the application of metaphor in the design of hakka cultural city.Ganzhou hakka cultural city designs many of its landscapes through a variety of metaphorical means,which well reflects the history and spirit of hakka culture.Visitors can better understand the history and life of hakka people through these landscape designs,and improve the artistic connotation and value of landscape design.From the above analysis,it can be found that ganzhou hakka cultural city is mainly designed by means of spatial structure metaphor,material metaphor,color metaphor,sculpture sketch metaphor and decorative metaphor.By means of these metaphors,the specific landscape design of ganzhou hakka cultural city can be well helped to enrich the spiritual and cultural meaning and value embodied in its single landscape,enrich the presentation of hakka culture,and improve the dissemination and influence of hakka culture.At the same time,it also shows that metaphor in Chinese gardens plays a very important role in modern landscape design.Through the use of metaphor techniques in gardens,it enriches the methods of modern landscape design and improves the level of modern landscape design.
