Under the environment of increasingly fierce market competition and increasing uncertainty of customer demand,the profit space of an enterprise is constantly shrinking.How to reduce cost and improve profit space so as to maintain a good competitiveness and development prospect of an enterprise is a problem that every enterprise should pay attention to and think about.The elimination of all waste in the manufacturing process is a way to reduce cost,and a great deal of waste in the manufacturing industry is from inventory surplus.Excessive inventory not only occupies a large amount of inventory funds,increases the cost of storage,but also has depreciation,scrap and other risks.However,too little inventory will affect the timely delivery of orders,thus affecting customer satisfaction.Therefore,how to maintain inventory at a reasonable and balanced level,so that enterprises can not only reduce cost but also maintain good customer satisfaction is an urgent problem that many enterprises need to solve.It can be said that the competition of modern manufacturing industry has gradually expanded from price,quality,service,technology and other aspects to the competition of logistics and inventory management.Enterprises need to constantly optimize the inventory management in the supply chain and constantly improve the level of inventory management in order to maintain their market competitiveness and achieve long-term development.On the basis of studying relevant theories and methods of inventory management,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and existing problems of S company's inventory management.It digs out three main inventory management problems of S company through the interview and data analysis methods,that is demand forecast problem,safety inventory problem and vendor management inventory problem.According to the problems found,this paper puts forward related plans to optimize S company's inventory management.It includes the optimization of demand forecast,safety inventory and vendor management inventory.Finally,it is introduced how to implement these optimization schemes in detail and ensure their smooth implementation.In the process of research,the inventory management problem of S company summarized in this paper should be representative in today's manufacturing enterprises.It is hoped that this paper,while improving the inventory management level of S company,can also provide some inspirations and references for the inventory management of similar enterprises.
